New System of Care Partnership Counties Announced

(from the PA CASSP Alert, Volumes 21/22, Numbers 12/1, December 2012/January 2013)

The Pennsylvania System of Care (SOC) Partnership has announced the latest selection of SOC Partner Counties who have demonstrated the commitment and readiness to begin implementing Systems of Care. Working at both the state and county levels, a System of Care brings child-serving system leaders together with youth and families to work in equal partnership. Together they will integrate the child-serving systems including child welfare, mental health, drug and alcohol, juvenile justice and education to be more cost-effective in providing services and supports that are evidenced based with proven outcomes. The new SOC Partner counties are Crawford, Greene, Northampton, Northumberland and Venango. They began strengths-based community work in 2013.

In 2014, Delaware, Indiana, Potter, Susquehanna, Mifflin and Fayette Counties also joined in to become a PA System of Care Partnership County! Welcome to all!

All the new counties joined the other PA counties already reaping benefits from the PA System of Care Partnership. Included in this group are Chester, Erie, Lehigh, Mongomery, Philadelphia and York Counties.
